Why Your 90-Day Goal Might Be Killing Your Momentum

Can we talk about a trap I see so many high-achieving leaders fall into?

A few months ago my husband and I were chatting about 90-day goals, and he told me something that hit hard:  “If I don’t see myself getting close to the goal fast enough, I feel like a failure. I get so demotivated.”

Can you relate?

I did. Especially coming from Corporate where progress was linear, and results were easy.

But here’s the TRUTH NUGGET that shifted everything for me as a business owner (and honestly… as a human): Life is not linear. Entrepreneurship is not linear.

And the fastest way to feel stuck is to obsess over the timeline and outcome (auch)

Let that sit…….

Because most of us are pouring energy into something we actually can’t control : timing. Only God knows the how and when

But you know what you can control? The execution of your strategy !!!!

Let me share a personal example.  This year, I set a big goal: Expand my brand and reach. I thought YouTube was going to be “the magic answer”. However, I quickly realized that YouTube is more of a long-term game.

And two awesome things happened, because I stayed consistent, showed up, and didn’t quit when it didn’t “work” fast enough: a) I aligned with an unexpected global collaboration (not announced yet stay tuned :) b) It’s up-skilling me AND directly impacting my original goal… but in a better way than I imagined.

As for my hubby, he ended up over-exceeding (I don't even know if that's a word but that's how much he over-achieved! lol) his investment goals and in a much BETTER & diversified way than what he originally planned.

See what I mean?

You don’t need to control the HOW you need to stay faithful in the DOING… Obsess with the execution.

Here’s how you can apply this right now:

  1. Define your North Star. Be CRYSTAL clear on your goal otherwise, you’re pedaling and braking at the same time.

  2. Pick a strategy. (News flash: There is no such thing as a “PERFECT STRATEGY”. Pick one!  it just has to get you moving.)

  3. Obsess over execution. Let your consistency become the magnet for magic.

  4. Celebrate the gain. Not the gap. You’re further along than you think.

  5. Trust divine timing. Because what’s coming is often way bigger & better than what you planned.

This week, ask yourself: Where am I wasting energy trying to control the timeline instead of executing with faith?

Let’s not just dream…Let’s act like it’s already unfolding, because it is!

I BELIEVE IN YOU!
